New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) is offering a free series of Career Exploration Workshops. Each Career Day will feature two to three hands-on workshops giving participants the opportunity to experience firsthand some of the job responsibilities in their field of interest. Faculty, graduates and employers will be on hand to guide students through the activities and to answer any questions regarding potential career paths.
All Career Exploration Days are free of charge and will be conducted on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm with lunch available from 12:00 - 12:30 pm The schedule is as follows:
January 9, 2016: Automotive, Marine, and Criminal Justice
January 23, 2016: Information Technology and Digital Media
February 6, 2016: Health Sciences
February 27, 2016: Engineering and Architecture
March 5, 2016: Building Trades
March 12, 2016: Various Managements Programs

Tiverton High School is 1 of 12 RI High Schools chosen to participate in a grant opportunity by the Office of Naval Research. "Strengthening the STEM Pipeline" is a grant to improve high school physics, engineering and math instruction.
The grant will provide Tiverton High School with:
- 100 e-books for physics and engineering
- Six fully equipped "hands-on" lab stations
- Hard Copy Texts
- Six Ergobot Interactive Robot Dynamic Motion Apparatus (programmable) for each classroom
- Teacher training (Physics teacher - Richard Bernardo, Calculus teacher - Michelle Bennett)
Tiverton High will be able to utilize this highly innovative, state of the art program in Physics, Mathematics, & Engineering applications in classrooms once training is completed.
