Principal's Message

Welcome to Tiverton High School!

My name is Christopher Ashley and it is an honor to introduce myself as Principal of Tiverton High School.

As a member of the Tiverton High School community, I feel privileged to join a community of respectful students, caring parents, and dedicated teaching professionals. All members of the Tiverton High School community take great pride in welcoming all students, regardless of background, and it is our mission to ensure all students develop the social, cognitive, and technological skills to become productive, engaged members of the 21st-century community.

Tiverton High School ensures all students enter a school that is safe, welcoming, and respectful of all. Our teachers and staff model the respect we expect of our students and work throughout the year to develop and strengthen our partnerships with families and the community.

The curriculum is centered around three core areas: Academic, Social, and Civic Expectations, each equally important. Our academic expectations ensure all students can read challenging texts and communicate effectively in written and spoken formats. Our students will be challenged to analyze, interpret, and evaluate information so they can solve problems using advanced technological media. Tiverton High School graduates will practice and learn the social and cognitive skills of working collaboratively to be knowledgeable in a wide variety of subject matter, including History, English, the Sciences, Mathematics, World Languages, and a multitude of other content specialties.

The Tiverton High School community places high value on the importance of community service, serving others, and taking action to make our school and the community a better place. Our requirement of 75 hours of community service is one example of our commitment to the belief that acting in the service of others develops leadership skills, builds empathy, and promotes a more open and democratic society.

Tiverton High School students will learn and grow as engaged learners in a rigorous academic curriculum that places high expectations for all in a supportive, safe, and respectful learning environment.

I welcome you to Tiverton High School and whether you are a parent, community member, or visiting guest, encourage you to reach out with a question or comment, 401-624-8494.

Sincerely,

Christopher J. Ashley
