Dear Tiverton Public Schools Family,

Weather - Due to the predicted cold weather tomorrow upon arrival to school students  should come immediately into the building.

From the Boston Globe:

"A dangerously cold air mass will move into New England over the weekend, bringing frigid temperatures and brutal windchills that could dip as low as 40 degrees below zero in what forecasters say could be the coldest air in Boston in years. The core of the arctic air will arrive late Friday night and early Saturday morning, and temperatures could drop as low as 5 to 15 degrees below zero. But with wind gusts up to 35 to 45 miles per hour, conditions will feel even colder. The windchill is expected to be close to 30 below zero Friday night into Saturday morning, said Hayden Frank, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service."

The Tiverton School Committee will be meeting Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library. One of the agenda topics is a possible vote on leaving the Newport County Regional Special Education Program.

Winter has arrived and so is my responsibility to make the sometimes-unpopular decision to delay or close the school buildings due to inclement weather conditions. The document below outlines that process:
