Tiverton School District

The Tiverton High School Mock Trial Team concluded its regular season today with a resounding must-win victory over the Lincoln School, making the Rhode Island state playoffs for the seventh consecutive year as a result. THS represented the State of Rhode Island, prosecuting a murder charge against the defendant. The defendant was represented by the Lincoln School.
The Honorable David Bazaar presided over the trial at the Garrahy Judicial Complex in Providence, Rhode Island.
The dynamic trial lawyers were team captain Brooke Sowa, along with Nanami Cater and Celina Medeiros. The talented witnesses were Silas Aguiar, Shawn Anderson, and Beatrice Pimental. The strong performance of each participant was highlighted by the scoring judges.
The team now looks forward to the exciting challenge of the state playoff tournament.

Spreading holiday magic at Brookdale Senior Living!

Our Pocasset First Grade team collaborated with with our dedicated elementary Art & Music teachers to create a special event: First Graders read to residents, gave each a holiday wreath hand-crafted in Ms Wood's art class. performed a holiday dance, and led a sing-along directed by music teacher Ms. Bond. Our visit ended with every student receiving a stuffed buddy from their new Brookdale friends.

🍂 Tiverton Public Schools is wrapping up the season with warmth and gratitude!
Our students enjoyed a delicious Harvest Meal featuring local sweet potatoes, roasted turkey with gravy, and warm dinner rolls—perfect for celebrating together. 🧡

We also had a blast on National Nacho Day serving everyone’s favorite Beef & Cheese Nachos!

And don’t forget—Chili Days, Warm Bellies is coming up! On Wednesday, December 17th we will have Chicken & White Bean Cheesy Chili with cornbread. Nothing beats a hearty bowl of comfort as the weather gets colder! ❄️🍲

Please note changes to the THS Food Pantry hours due to school vacation:

• The THS Food Pantry will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 23. Instead, we will be open Monday, Dec. 22 from 4:00–6:00 PM.
• The THS Food Pantry will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
• We will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 6 from 4:00–6:00 PM.

The Tiverton High School Mock Trial Team overcame its inexperience and a tough opponent in Cranston East High School to secure a critical victory today at the Joseph J. Garrahy Judicial Complex in Providence.

Brooke Sowa’s score on her closing argument served as the difference in the trial’s outcome.

Celina Medeiros and Nanami Cater performed well as Sowa’s co-counsel, while Beatrice Pimentel, Shawn Anderson, and Silas Aguiar delivered strong scores as witnesses. Adelaide Pimentel effectively served as the team’s rules expert.

There has been a change in plans for the Thanksgiving Day football game. The game will now be played on Wednesday, November 26, at 6:00 p.m. at Tiverton High School against Barrington High School.

We hope you’ll come out the night before turkey day and show your Tiger pride!

Due to Parent/Teacher Conferences, the THS Food Pantry will be open Tuesday, Nov. 25. from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM.

The Tiverton School District has been in contact with several generous donors regarding lunch fund balances. We’re so grateful for the kindness and community spirit shown here in Tiverton! 💙

Please note — per School Committee policy, all children will be fed. Families who’ve completed the proper paperwork receive free or reduced lunch. These balances reflect students who pay for breakfast or lunch.

Donations can be made through PayPal (Tiverton School Department) at preschool@tivertonschools.org, or by cash/check at any school or the Administration Building.

📣 Thank You Tiverton Fire & Rescue! ❤️🚒

This morning, the Tiverton Fire/Rescue Community Training Center generously donated two American Heart Association Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Trainers — one to Tiverton High School and one to Tiverton Middle School — to enhance our health and CPR education programs.

These training units will allow students to gain hands-on experience using AEDs, a major improvement from previous lessons using only pads. This gift helps empower our students with life-saving skills and builds confidence in emergency preparedness.
