The Tiverton High School Mock Trial Team secured a victory over Moses Brown in the state tournament to reach the Final Four for the second time in three years. Brendan Sowa, Maeve McHugh, and Brooke Sowa served as the attorneys for the prosecution, and Aidan Sweeney, Olivia Manning, and Morgan Pontagarca served as witnesses. Courtnie Smith was the team’s rules expert. Judge Stephen Minicucci presided over the trial. Tiverton High School advances to the Rhode Island state semi-finals on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Rhode Island’s Federal District Court before the Honorable Mary McElroy. We encourage the attendance of anyone interested in watching our dynamic group.

Due to the anticipated severe weather conditions, Tiverton Public Schools will be closed for in-person instruction, as well as all after-school activities on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. In light of this, students will be provided with their Chromebooks and are required to adhere to a distance learning day schedule. Tiverton represented the defense and was victorious in the Sweet Sixteen playoff round over Mount St. Charles Academy, representing the prosecution. Tiverton will participate in the Quarterfinals later this month.
